Malaysian for fried, every street food hawker has their own version, well this is our families, rice is cooked with both chicken and prawns, flavoured with lemon grass, Malaysian curry spices, Kaffir lime leaves, shrimp paste, tomato paste, garlic and other spices, topped with a fried egg, chives, with or without fresh chillies (hot) and garnished with crispy fried onions.

 

Beef Rendang £14.95

In our family’s street food stalls in Brunei, we have always served our beef rendang with sauce, so we still do now, chunky beef is slow cooked in a Malaysian coconut curry, flavoured with Malaysian curry spice, lemon grass, kaffir lime leaves and cooked until tender, served with steamed rice topped with shredded egg omelette, garnished with light and dark soy with chilli flakes.

 

Laksa £11.95

Vermicelli rice noodles are drenched in a Malaysian Curry Soup, made from coconut, and curry spices, flavoured with shrimp paste, curry leaves, and lemon grass and lime, paprika, candle nuts, galangal, coriander, and other spices, cooked with bean sprouts and both chicken and king prawns, garnished with shredded cucumber, fresh coriander, shredded egg omelette and a slice of lime.

Penang is a region in Malaysia, influenced by the Spanish that landed there centuries ago, this curry is a sweet coconut curry, made with mince beef and chicken, flavoured with peanuts, fish sauce, light soy, lime, fresh basil, and curry leaves, served with steamed rice, shredded cucumber and chilli flakes
